I understand bytes received, but my computer seems to be also sending out a lot of information as well.
I have Norton corp , spyware Dr , win Patrol ect ...up and running. This is a company computer so no shortage of anti virus or spyware software.I am wondering if there is a way to see where the information on my computer is going.
We don't have a server set up on it.
There should not be any out going information....some perhaps to our ISP, but not at 12.mpbsLooking for some type of packet tracker????
Or perhaps win has a means already to give us a ip where everything is going.Thank you for any help.
Oh! Running two fire walls...as well.

Windows is one of the Biggest senders of information from your computer back Home to MS!
Your Norton software, Your SpyDocter etc.If you are running a firewall, which you should be.
Go into the section for Controling Internet Programs and All of the Items you have set to Allow Access to the Internet change it to Filter and you will soon find out who is sending the most information from your Computer back home!

Depending on what type of Internet connection you have 12 mbps upload is a lot, far greater than most Internet connections can handle.
Are you sure this is Internet traffic and not LAN traffic.

Aha!
In my post I said I was not running a server.
May I change that to per say.
Tracked it down. Yes!
I download educational games for the grand kids and send them to 2 computers with a 14 cd scsi setup using a network setup.
Easier than burnig cds. And cost effective as the cds are locked in or I put the games on the hd. Keepers are purchased the rest tossed or expire.
The culprit are torrents. Found 3 up and running.
They run in the background.
Need to remove them as our connection does slow down ....if the tracker...not to up on the subject....uses our connection to feed all the downloaders.
Thank you for your help. I was worried about someone hacking in and getting company files.
All Microsoft ever says is that we need updates and then more updates to fix the previouse one.
Thank you again.
