VLK stands for Volume License Keys. You have to setup a software contract with a corporate dealer like ASAP Dell Software. Then you can buy a VLK for as many computers you wish to install the app on. They send you one disk or ISO and it will alow you to install as many times as you like using that VLK. Just be prepared if they decide to do a software audit, to show your certificate for the number of licenses you have.

To answer your question, no unless the copy you buy is a VLK version and not an OEM disk. If you have a lagit VLK and just lost your disk you can get the software company to send you another media for around $25 to cover shipping and handling.

Although I never recommend doing this, you can download a VLK ISO off of a bit torrent and use your key instead of the the one provided. Just remember, bit torrents are not legal but download the ISO and useing your key is on the grey side of the law.

I guess I left out an important part, I am trying to go "legit" with a XP computer that is using one of the leaked VLK keys. I was hoping to just buy a copy of XP SP2 from eBay and use the Microsoft key updater to replace the leaked key with a legit one.

Ok, that will not work. You have to get a VLK disk from a corporate dealer. Call Dell ASAP Software or who ever you use to buy software for your corporation.

If the copy of Windows that is installed is already a VLK then use the Microsoft tool to change their VLK to yours.

If you are out of keys then you only need to call your software vendor and have them send you another certificate for another key. Who bought your software for you initially?

No one bought the software originally, this is a computer built years ago, with the leaked VLK key. I am not a professional computer builder, just someone who wants to help make his "friends" computer legit without reinstalling the whole OS. I can do it through MS for $150, but I would rather use one of the legit XP SP2 copies I see on eBay for about $50, if I can.

You can install using a vlk.

But after installing use Microsofts key updater and change the key to correspond with the coa's keys (sticker on computer)

Updater is from Microsoft.

There are numerous programs & methods available that will "make XP 100% genuine" & allow you to pass the WGA test. Take the phrase I have in quotes & plug it into google. Don't waste your money just to get a "legit" key.

And don't rely on stuff bought on ebay being legit. It's got a thriving community of software pirates.
