Burning DVD's!

Hello all I have purchased a liteon dvd+r/+rw model ldw-401s-wi It comes with power dvd and sonic my dvd..I also purchased Perfect CD & DVD Burner platinum..It comes with dvd ripper called DVD Magic..
I have windows Xp and I aslo have a cd burner and a dvd player on my pc...I also have easy cd creator..
My problem is this...I can't burn dvd's..lol I have tried but the dvd burner software is looking for some in vcd format???? from off my pc...I tried to copy my dvd with roxio and it said the dvd is copy protected..lol...so how cani get this dvd burned? and how can i copy the dvd to my computer so i can poin the sonic mydvd software to look there..a
and does the dvd need to be in another format to burn it..I need help and some basic steps would be appreciated al lot..thanks

go here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ it got me going, im not quite sure of your prollem but i bought a burner not knowing anything and this helped me it also has links to some free software that does the job, its free but please donate, hope it helps.

Completely uninstall ALL the software. Then install only what came with the drive.

Purchase a program called DVD X COPY to burn "back-ups" of your DVD movies. If lets you burn copyrighted dvds. www.321studios.com
Summary: But it worked before... :( I already looked for drivers and Nero updates, didnt work...and its burning at the only reading speed it supports!! :( And for another burning software, I have Alcohol 120%....
