I have burned music and data cds before but now every time that I try it always tells me to enter a writeable disc even though I have just put a blank one in. I am using CD-R disc and that is what I have always used. Anyone got a suggestion?

reseat the cable at both the mainboard and cd burner ends. Sometimes the connections get a bit oxidized and reseating renews the connections.
