Have been burning Audio successfully up to 6 weeks ago. Cannot burn at all. Using Media Player 10 and also have an independent burner which does not burn also. Checked drives & updates - Fine. Check boxes as before, recording tab selected. slower speeds select burn to medium, slow., different discs 4x, upto 52x. My drive is DVD - Ram UJ-820S. Ripping and playing audio is terrific. Burning starts, pending ok but when it starts to actually burn it closes disc or sometimes finalises on the first track.

My Windows DVD Creator2 for DVD works great.

Cannot load Real Player as my screen resolution changes when I re-boot. The point size increase many fold. Advice appreciated.
Regards Sydney

well its hard to understand you, but i'll give this a shot....

first, install and try Nero. See if that solves your burning problems.

post back here and let me know if it worked or not, and then we'll go from there.

Yeah I have been contemplating that. Will post a reply on this post when I get it. Thanks.

The RealPlayer issue is above me I'm afraid. It downloads fine and works ok but after I shutdown and turn on the computer later the screen resolution has changed so I have to correct it again. I contacted RealPlayer and they mentioned my Firewall. I just wish that MediaPlayer had a default checklist do's and don'ts. Cannot go back to MediaPlayer 9 which was `a godsend to me, basic but everything hunky dory. Thanks again

hmm...well I don’t really know what to say about the real player problem....obviously you've uninstalled and reinstalled both the media player and your video drivers right? Might help if not...

Tell real player to @#$ off, because its not your firewall....I hate when companies tell others to disable their firewall and NEVER re-enable it (if they did that to you)...I can understand disabling it for temp troubleshooting, but that’s it...turn it back on if it’s off.

I ran Regedit and deleted the upper and lower filter values. System froze completely, so reinstalled everything with my product recovery rom. No other choice. Finally was able to get rid of the pre-installed programs I did not want. System is actually running smoother and was able to get back on broadband quickly and recover my lost purchased programs. Still playing catch up but hopefully everythings fine. If problem still occurs I will re-post. Thanks for your help. sydneyb
