I was using my burner and the program was not detecting my cd. So I canceled the process and the program would not respond. So I press Crt Alt Delete and closed the program. Things went pretty well, until I found out I could'nt eject my Cd or shut down my computer properly. So I had to use the off switch in back of my computer. I rebooted the pc, and it gave me information my pc had a problem, and I should just load up Windows regulary. I did, but the display only showed Windows loading for about forever. I called my father and he discussed the situation with me. He then unhooked the burner from my pc, and it worked perfectly. And when he hooked it back up, the same problem arose again. We can't even eject the cd from the burner. Does anyone know what's happening.

Check to make sure that the power plug isn't loose. If it's ok, the drive has probably died.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!!!

That's the power cable to the drive, not the main power plug.
