burner problem

Hi you computer gods can you please help me with this problem.Recently I had 98 Operating sys. and i had a cd burner 8x a slower one now i have xp as my operating system and the burner cannot burn it is reading just like a cd-rom,i load nero and the same thing happen it cannot burn its just reading the cd (audio).Can you assist me with some possible explainations to help me.

Probably time to purchase a new burner. You can get new DVDRW very cheap. If you have loaded your burning software and it refuses to burn this leads me to think of mechanical problems.

Mike,check this: My Computer Right click your CD Burner Properties Recording tab Put a check mark in Enable CD recording on this drive. Post back if this did work Cheers de Peter
