Why reinvent the wheel? I think only the first chapter is bootable on a DVDR.

OtheHill is correct..

the boot record can only be placed at the front of the DVD as this is all that the bios will read when searching for bootable drives discs and floppies is about 8mb of the lead in of the disc which stores the meta data that triggers the boot response.

Well I would create a dir on C:.
Call it myos.

In myos create three sub directory's in myos

xp
vista
winserver

Copy each cd to the its own directory.

Create a menu and make the dvd bootable

Your suggestion might work to get started but when the OS reboots the computer it may have a problem finding the right place on the DVD.

More importantly why go through all the trouble? What is wrong with One DVDR and two CDRs?

True it may have a problem finding the right place on the dvd.....perhaps loading through I386 wintt for xp. Don't know about Vista or winserver .

Given the cost of cd's hmmm
...well enough said.

Might be a nice rainy day project for someone who has the time.
