my PC freezes after startup, but I can work in safe mode. I need to save my files to a cd so I can reformat. How do I get my cd burner drive to work in safe mode?

you don't.
drivers do not load in safe mode
go back into safe mode, dump the video drivers, reboot, see if the freeze goes away.

thanks, but how exactly do I dump the video drivers, and why do you think that's what's causing it to freeze?
