The only real bugs that were in SP2 were because people would not do what they were suppose to do in the first place. Go to M$ and learn how/what to do.

Ditto lurkswithin
Also, if the laptop belongs to the school, you shouldn't be messing with it and in all probability it won't let you install SP2 anyhow.

Yep! I checked it over last night and I've fixed em all... go for it!
The only bugs with SP2 is that it's not really compatible with certain hardware. It installed perfectly on all but one of my pc's (no slowdowns or anything). On that last PC, SP2 would never install correctly. I had to un-install, update drivers, etc. etc. I would try it once a week, until it finally went through lol.

As far as I know, SP2 is SP2... there is no SP2.1 with bug fixes.

AFAIK whatever bugs found in SP2 have been fixed with 18 subsequent Critical updates.

All those critical updates weren't necessarily to fix problems which were actually created by installing SP2, which seems to be what he's wondering about.

That's what I thought. No matter what OS one uses, there always will be updates to fix something. That's life :-)

In any case, time is running out for bobby. Come April 14, SP2 will be forcibly installed on his machine.

Not that a bug-fixed SP2 wouldn't be such a bad idea, but I guess they have their reasons for locking down the code. Like you implied though, it'll never be bug free anyway. As long as you leave your W/windows open, you'll always have bugs here and there.
