I was wondering, when my wireless network connects a ballon pops up saying its connected and all that. How to I turn it off for the bubble not to come up anymore, but the computer icon still remains in my system tray?

I think you'll have to turn off the balloon tips altogether which involves registry editing.

If you're not comfortable with this then best leave it alone otherwise navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Create a DWORD value called

EnableBalloonTips

give it a Hex value of 0 and restart your computer.

Observe the usual warnings about backing up before playing in the registry.

...or you can use TweakUI for XP, theres a setting in there to disable balloon tips.
