BSOD STOP 0x000000ED UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Specs: Windows XP Professional

hi my screen recently stoped working and i was networking it back to my other computer so i could retrieve my files off for my business

I then turned it off and went to start it up and it wouldnt connect it to my computer so i got a new screen so i can read what is wrong with it i am getting the following code

STOP: 0x000000ED (0x82F5EE30, OxCOOOOO32, 0x00000000, 0x00000000
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

I have read other post that say put the windows install disk in. but will that remove all the files from the computer or am i able to do a roll back of the OS because it sounds like one of the OS files is damaged and has S**t itself

any help anyone eould be greatful

When you boot off your cd you will get two options.
New install or repair.
The repair only replaces missing or corrupt files.

I would download one of the free programs that repairs the boot sector and try that first. Some run off floppy and others on cd

In this state, repair installation is impossible...
