CPU/Ram: amd xp 3800+ / 1gb corsha
Comment:

I was playing football manager for 3/4 on a network game, then suddenly from nowhere i got a BSOD, saying "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" i rebooted but now i get it as soon as i click on any of the options in the start up, "safe/safe with network, last known working" etc, in safe mode windows loads and i can click the "admin" log in bit, then it crashes instantly with the same BSOD (i think it doesnt stay on screen long enough to see".
I did build my PC about a month ago and have had no problems at all until now.
My specs are;
Mobo: Asus A8V-E
GFX: Windfast leadtek Geforce 6600GT
Ram: 1gig dual channel corshair platinum series
PSU: 750W
CPU: 3800+ Athlon

i havnt overclocked it or anything of the sorts, and i cant run any diag due to not being able to access windows. I have tried unplugging the HDDs i have, (Maxtor 60gb IDE and Maxtor 200gb SATA) ive tried both combo's of these and same thing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Will

That is usually a memory problem. Remove 1 memory module and try it. Then swap them if the results are the same.

Update: I downloaded the ram checker but it just kept asking for system disk,
I then tried to run the windows repair facility but i get another blue screen, this time saying "A driver corrupted pool memory used for holding pages destined for memory"

You built this system...clear the cmos and this should also clear the memory error for a bit. maybe long enough to get a new set of drivers in it or to check the memory sticks out.

Update2: i decided to try and format, (cut my losses) and reinstall, but i cant even do that, once the drive had been formateed i tried to install windows as normal, and it blue screened with no "IRQ missing" or that type of message, but at bottom it said ntfs.sys is corrupt. anyone got any ideas? you think it sounds memory related?

further news: i managed to format and partition, but when i went to install windows it now says "suchasuchfile.dll" is an invalid system image, there may be a problem with the CD. The CD isnt scratched i tried cleaning it, but nothing helped, so now i cant even reinstall windows at all, so im thinking this problem is serious. Any ideas guys???
Help appreciated in advanced, thanks
