Hi All

I'm having a problem with a users pc and have no idea what's going on.

I am getting a BSOD just after windows loading screen with the following error and stop code: BAD_POOL_CALLER
stop: 0x000000c2 (0x00000043, 0xc2fd8000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I tried restarting and chose last known good config but still get BSOD. booting into safe mode also gives the same BSOD.

I tried running a repair from recovery console but as I choose option 1 to select the windows partition it gives the same BSOD. I also tried repairing after the licence screen but once again get the same blue screen.

I'm out of options at the moment. Can anyone help?

Find a list of STOP MESSAGES(BSOD) here:
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

When there, click C2 at the right side of that page.

Thanks for the response Mavis007, I tried everything on that page but unfortunately nothing helped.

I don't get it. I can't even install a fresh copy of windows because as I hit F8 to accept the licence agreement bam I get a blue screen.

Any other suggestions?

... you may have a recovery partition!!

When the Dell splash screen appears during the computer startup process, press and hold <Ctrl> and then press <F11>. Then, release both keys at the same time.

... Fdisk and format the drive unless you have a recovery partition.

... then try install of xp again.

... this may help:
