Bryan, cheers for the advice, i will bin laplink pro so. thanks, but am still stuck really as how to get file transfer up and running, as i say the 2 computers dont seem to be able to find each others parrallel ports that are connected with this cable i have bought, and which i was told was the correct cable, do the pcs both need to have XP to use this feature, as one is win 98 and the other xp. thanks bryan
