Hi,
Can someone help me? I am having problems with my internet/windows explorer. when pressing enter from the log on screen I am getting an error message saying "this application has failed to start because BROWSEUI.dll was not found". Then the only thing that shows on my desk top is the background pic. no start button nothing. you have to access everything from the task manager.

oh and there is somethings i can't access like the control panel. also when browsing from the "new task" it shows nothing on "my computure

Got to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Lanel. Go to Windows components and remove Internet Explorer and then add it back. That 'should' restore that file.

G'day Catrina, if the above doesn't work see if you can access this folder, Windows\System32\dllcache, there should be a copy of Browseui.dll in there to copy back to the System32 folder, hopefully.

..into the \Windows\System32 folder [ I thought I said that already ?].
Did you find the file ?. You will have to reboot your machine after coping it back anyway.

no i didn't find the file i think i might be able to reinstall internet explorer by copying it from my desktop.

Check the following location for browseui.dll:
c:\windows\servicepackfile\I386
