My web browsers (IE, Netscape, Fire Fox) are not displaying some images on websites such as banners.

Also, I run another PC off the same internet connection - this PC views the imags fine.

The PC that isn't viewing them also has a different source code - no image file (in this case, a banner) is evident.

If IE, Netscape, and Firefox does not display images of some website on just one PC, then theres definitely something wrong. The problem is you haven't given us enough info to guess what the cause might be.

My guess, is that you have some security settings that are preventing them from loading on the one computer. You might also have security, firewall or spywareguard type software installed which is seeing those images as being malicious.

Check and see if your IE security settings are set to MEDIUM. You may also want to temporarily change Active Script/Active X
and Java Script from DISABLE to PROMPT.
Check and make sure your firewall settings to not prevent the loading of JPG files and JAVA files. Some pictures are Java enabled and will not display if your firewall settings are too high.

Also, you should goto http://www.sun.com and download the latest Java platform from them to update your javascripting capabilities.

Also, your browser may not be up to date and needs updating. You can try alternate browsers like OPERA or MOZILLA.

http://www.opera.com
http://www.mozilla.org

Mozilla is the full browser version and FIREBIRD is a scaled down, mean and lean version.

Both are free browsers. Opera has a purchase version, but if you can live with a small banner in the upper right corner, download the full free version. BTW if you download Opera, pick the one with JAVA and you don't have to download the Java Platform separately.

The only thing you cannot do with these other browsers is download MS Updates...you have to use IE for that.

CHeck these things out, I hope one or the other solves your problems.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, no suggestions worked.

In regards to the first post, the problem is that the computer is not receiving the source code correctly or something. I search for the missing banner in the code, but it is not in there anywhere. I also spoke to the admin of one of the sites and showed him the code. He said put of it - some part of javascript or something - was not put in there by him.

No matter what browser I use, nothing changes.

You might try searching for spyware. The best spyware tools that I have used are Spybot and Ad-aware. A useful tool to have on your computer to prevent spyware from getting onto your computer is Spyware Blaster. You can find Spybot 1.3 and Ad-Aware SE at http://www.downloads.com to find Spyware Blaster you will have to go to http://www.javacoolsoftware.com I hope that this works for you to solve your problem.

1. Try doing the following from the command prompt :-

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

2. If the above does not work then do a system restore to a back date
