I'm running Firefox 3.0.10 and I went to look at a Lawnmower manual from a Yahoo search. When i clicked on it I automatically downloaded something and from that point on I hear browser clicking noises now even when I don't have my browser up. Another thing is that now that I do a yahoo search I get sent to something else after clicking on the link. the search bar on the yahoo search home page looks weird, the window only shows have the of the letters. I have ran Hijack this and use the analyze website that is advised by computing.net. All of them have green check marks. I also tried running Spybot and adware and nothing happens. I tried malware software mbam,exe but it will not install, it freezes. can someone please help me get my computer clean, if not i will have to reinstall windows XP. thanks

Already tried the easiest thing? Click on Start / Run and type in CMD. In the comming up window type ipconfig /flushdns (hit enter) arp -d (hit enter) Start the browser and try again. Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

I tried doing what you said but the second command does not do anything.

It empties the Adress Resolution Protocol Cache, but generates no output to screen. Checked, whether you get redirected further more? Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

ok i did what you said and I ran in to another problem, I was not even browseing the web and right when I opened my browser and did my first four search it did it again. and it was to ebay and to this website. Please help me.
