I want to get rid of my Opera browser. Everytime I try, the "Could not open INSTALL.log file." comes out and I can't continue. Next? Anybody, anybody? Thanks.

Hi.

Maybe someone can give you a better advice, but whenever such thing happened to me, I manually delete everything I can find in my PC that points to the program (I'm not talking about Opera. It works with any program): Program folder, shortcuts, etc. Of course, this can create a mess in your PC, but after doing this, I run my favorite registry cleaners:

RegCleaner (freeware)

EasyCleaner (freeware)

System Mechanic (Shareware)

Norton SystemWorks (Shareware)

This cleans your PC of any invalid registry entries left after manually deleting the program. Sounds risky but again, it always works for me when I can't uninstall the right way.

Hope this helps.

You know, I could have sworn I used my EasyCleaner when I tried to get rid of it earlier, but evidently I didn't. Success. Thanks for reminding me what I should have done. Too many programs I guess. Thanks again.

Did you try reinstalling Opera, and then uninstalling it? (Not to suggest those "cleaning" programs wouldn't work or anything)

(By the way, I'm from just over the Nebraska border, in Kansas, just south, sorta between Red Cloud and Superior)

yes, I'm from the big O. Things are great here. Love the entire state. Used to deliver a lot of goods to Fremont when I drove a truck. Had to rework my login to get back on this site. Later.
