Broken Windows On a partition

Hi I have broken windows on one of the extended dos partition on my harddisk, now how can i fix it, i tryed re-installing it but its not easy win98. when i booted my cd on the main menu i hit "Enter" to setup XP Pro then choosed the partition it is installed on then pressed enter, i though it would re-copy every windows files but it said that this might cause other systems work improperly. has anyone tried this before. wat are the results. coz i dont have an option to repair it "r" please help here.

if you have more than one partition copy all of the stuff you need to keep to the other nonwindows partition then re-install windows xp completely, the chances are that even if did have the repair facility it probably wouldn't be as succesfull as you hoped. What is wrong with your installation of xp?

Your initial post is little confusing... Which OS installed, where, and which is broken?
