Comment:

I had a 128k Broadband cable modem installed yesterday, however when clicking on audio files, i have an error message:-

AUTO CONFIGURE
"The Real Player is unable to connect to the server to play your selection..."

After I click on YES to find "other ways to connect", a message appears:-

"Real Player not able to connect to a server for playback..." It also says that my computer network may be behind a Firewall....

I removed Mcafee Firewall, but that has not eliminated the problem.

Have I wasted my hard earned cash to double quick connection- but have NOthing to connect to??? Help guys & gals

Have you tried reinstalling the Real program?

click tools->preferences->connection

then click "assume i am connected"

The programs on your computer might still assume that you need to use the modem/dialup...or real player might not be detecting your online status correctly

128K isn't classed as broadband, its medium band.
