Good morning all,
I am working on a Gateway laptop with a centrino wireless card and have run into some problems.I can use the wireless card fine, but when I try to plug it in to a ethernet cable it does not recognize the connection.
In the network properties I notice that the ethernet connection is "Bridged". If I remove the bridge, the ethernet works fine, but then I am unable to connect using a wireless connection.
What is this bridge, and is it necessary?
All I want is for the ethernet connection to work when I plug in a cable, and if there is no cable pluged in for the wireless connection to work.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Mario-

I do not know about it, but in Windows HELP,
in the Search box, type Bridge, click GO button,
then a Web search is done for information.

Just wondering about your problem--
If I click a Network Icon, then try to Bridge, this error comes up--"To create a Network Bridge, you must select two Network connections that are not being used by
Internet Connection Sharing or the Internet Connection Firewall."Maybe some clues in that ??
