bootup problems

OS: windows xp
CPU/Ram: 2.4 512

everyone knows the usual, "one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. you may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue" which occurs when you bootup if u had previously shut the pc down the wrong way.
However, I'm getting this error EVERYTIME i bootup even when I SHUT DOWN CORRECTLY.
any help is appreciated in heling me fix this

Boot into Safe Mode and run the Scandisk. Then reboot.

That should do it.
