I want to make a copy of my boot.ini file. Help, I do not want just the boot text I want the actual file. Please if anyone can help meeeeee thanx

Open up the control panel and switch it to "classic view". Open up "folder options" and then "view". Check "show hidden files" UNcheck "hide protected operating system files" Now do a search for "boot.ini" Copy and paste it(the file) to the floppy drive with a blank disk in it. Your done :) Jimi_l

Well, not quite done...
there are four key files that will make a boot floppy for XP.
these four files are located in the root directory of the c: drive. C:\
boot.ini bootsect.dos ntdetect.com ntldr
put these files on a floppy disk, and you can boot your PC - even if the MBR is lost or damaged.
This will even work with a multiboot configuration.
