booting up to desktop no owner stop

can I get rid of the owner stop-off and boot up to the desktop as with me or 98, if so how do I got about making the change,

best way I found [and there is more then just the logon prompt] is use the "repair" from booting the XP cd. This will basically overwrite the install [keeping everything] and you can put in your information not the previous owners. You do need the cd key.

Frank, I changed mine by doing what a fellow named chuck said to try and this is what worked for me. Go to control panel click user accounts, then "change the way users log on or off" check both items. also to say if you have guest account showing at log on, then turn it off. In user accounts, click guest account then click "turn off guest account". I hope this helped cause what chuck advised someone else to try worked slick for me. Gary
