Hi,

I have Windows XP with SP3. While booting its taking long time at "Preparing Network Coonnections" screen.

Is the machine part of a network or a standalone? The last time I saw behaviour like this on a standalone machine it was incorrect entries in the DNS server settings. Have you changed any network hardware recently? - how many network adapters are shown in your network connections?, do you have the remnants of an old one there?
