Hi friends, can someone offer advice on this problem.
My system configuration:
K6-2 350 CPU , 192 RAM, 1st drive 80G , 2nd drive 8GMy 1st drive is partition as :
1. 4G Win98 primary
2. 4G Win 98 primary
3. 4G WinXP primary
4. 68G ExtendedI used PartitionMagic 7 to copy partition 3 (with WinXP)onto the second drive - same size, primary.
I then used Bootmagic 6 to configure - it shows that the new partition is bootable.I just couldn't get it to boot WinXP from the Bootmagic menu.
I always get a system reboot response.Thanks
Stan

First: if you move xp to different partition you have to edit boot.ini file (hidden file) and change partition 3 to 2 where it says for XP.
Second: since your 1,2 and 3rd partition is primary, u didn't need any bootmagic to set it bootable. You could do it in fdisk and set partition 2 as active.
Right now I dont' know how your computer works, do you have 98 and xp or just 98- I dont' know. Especially when you used 3rd party boot software.
Next time , before you do something you're not sure of post it here and see what others could suggest to avoid problems like this. **I always try to avoid software like bootmagic unless there's no other way. However ,PartitionMagic can be very useful**
I hope someone else will have alternative solution.
Max
