Hi guys, i have tried all weekend to mess around with this idea. Google seems to bring up the same things, with threads that are over two years old. All the methods i tried have failed.
I just want to install BartPE on a USB stick so i can carry out diagnostics and security scans on PC's i come across.
I follow all the instructions and enabled everything that needs to be enabled in the BIOS.
When i carried out a test by formatting the drive and including the boot.ini, ntdetect, and ntldr i could get it to boot to the Windows installation.
But as soon as the BARTPE files were added (using pebuilder, and pe2usb) it either finds no OS or just skips to the second boot option.
So i wondered if any of you guys could point me in the direction of an idea that works.
Many thanks in advance.

Darren

If you talk about "carry out diagnostics and security scans on PC's", the best choice should be Ultimate Boot Cd. You can customize it, what ever you want (very flexible & robus, particular for Pc Tech.). Cd is still a better boot media compare to usb. Older pc wont boot from usb.
