Is there any drive image creating software by which i can take image on removable bootable disk (dvd).which can run in dos mode to restore the system.

With Acronis you can create a bootable disk (cd, dvd or from usb device if your BIOS allows), which should then in turn let you reload your operating system to the state it was backed up from on a seperate media (another cd / dvd or external HDD / flash drive). I have had limited success with this, especially trying to boot with an Acronis boot disk to restore a pc with a RAID set-up.
Norton Ghost also allows you to do the same, I think it has been more successful for me because I back-up my whole pc to a RAID array.
I'm not 100% sure if this is the reason but it's the only reason I can see why Acronis doesn't work for me in this regard.
EDIT: Could also be related to user error *shrugs*

Not really. If you want to image a drive, you can store the image on a DVD, but you'll need to restore it to a proper disk in order to use it. There are some image -> ISO tools, where you could then mount the ISO as a filesystem and possibly use it, but that's beyond my skill.
I use a 3TB raid server for storing images of the work PC's so that they can be restored in a moment if needed. Sure it's a costly option but for our staff's productivity it paid for itself the first time someone messed up there PC.
Also note, many imaging tools will need to be available when restoring, so DOS mode will be a non-event for this.
Cheers.

Thanks to all
I used Nortan Ghost 6.3 version old one
with this i can able to make clone of the
HDD partition, but it required other HDD
to get that image, i m looking for the
utility by which i can directly get image
on dvd, and in emergency i can used bootable
and load the saved image.as per ur suggestions I will definately try
for Acronis and Norton ghost higher version
which still i never try...Thanks again

G4U works fine from a floppy or cd and is free.
There are plenty of other solutions already made even for usb drives and pxe.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10
