Boot up problem continual loop

August 10, 2009 at 15:10:36
Specs: Windows XP
Notebook seems to be in a loop of booting up and unable to get into windows.
The blue screen tells me to disable or uninstall antivirus, disk defrag and backup utilities. Run chkdsk /f and check for hard drive corruption etc. BUT how and what should I be looking for if and when I can get in!?!?
Error Message:
*** STOP 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0XBACEF80C, 0xBACEF508, 0xBA624167)
888 Ntfs.sys - BA624167 base at BA617000, DateStamp 4802be5
Any advice and guidance and help please!

Are you able to get into safe mode? At startup, repeatedly press
the F8 key. If that works, you may be able to do those things.
Tell me if that works, I'm researching this issue to see if there is
anything else I can give you.
Hope this helped!

I just noticed, why would it want you to disable antivirus. Sounds suspicious, you may be infected.

I run Ubuntu 9.04 on my Compaq Presario R3000. I also run windows XP & 7(beta) in virtual box.
