Hi, I'm having an issue and was hoping someone could help....
Have a HP Pavilion 780n running XP pro. Everything was fine until this morning when I booted up the Windows screen comes up and the loading image beneath the logo is moving, but then the screen goes blank and all I can see is the cursor arrow.

Best place to start would be to reboot and go into your bios.
Not sure if it is F1 or delete on your machine to get into the bios.
Once you get in, find and load the system defaults or fail safe settings then hit f10 to save and exit.
See if you can get back into windows.
If you get the option choose last known good configuration.
Good Luck

If I am not mistaken, upon you reached the black screen and wait for a few minutes or second, depending on your computer, you then reach the desktop screen.
If this do, did you install anything before this problem occur. If so, I can tell that you ram is the one causing this!
I personally if this problem arise, I will format my pc and install back all required files myself anf this problem is solved!
