Boot to network?

What do I need to put on the server so a computer can boot off it and then install an os?

We have 75 dell gx110 computers that were donated.

They don't have cd roms or A:drives.
The bios only have two options .Boot off c: or the network.

The hard drives were wiped before being donated.

There is a slot to put one in. Comparable to a laptops cdrom or A: drive.

Took one apart and tried to connect a regular cd rom but the connector isn't standard.

Then tried a ribbon with two connections but it wont support two devises on one cable.

So, to load these....I need a means to boot off the server and then install an os. They are going to a school were cd roms and A: drives are not needed...just an OS.

I have tried a usb A: drive.
I have tried a usb cdrom
I have tried a hard drive with an os and the i386 files on it to do a repair.

I did locate an A: drive for it...but as mentioned it wont boot off an A: drive.

So some how I need it to boot off the server and then install an os.

A penny for your thoughts....

hi
for info the gx110 have pxe bootable network cards

http://www.k12ltsp.org/mediawiki/in...

so you should be able to boot them across a network and install OS directly onto them.
ok a lot more info is needed the 'how to bi't is probably best dealt with by some one who has done it.

Unless you want to install another OS.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
