hi i installed a os called aston and it works fine but i shut down my computer cuz my flopy drive got stuck in eject position and i fixed it and tried to reconect a hard drive as a slave i have to see if it would boot (stupid idea) it gave me the same error as last time saying it couldnt boot and retrying over and over so i turned it off and disconected it and it went to the faild to boot screen (expected) so i toled it to boot windows normaly and it was looking fine the windows xp home editon loading logo came up and went though its runs but then instead of opening my pick a user screen witch even in aston it loads first it goes to a black screen and nuthing happens i tried ctrl+alt+delet and nuthing happens plz help me. i think it might be that widows is trying to load using aston configuration is their a way to restore my old boot up to go into normal xp??? i just tried fdisk /mbr and it didnt change anything is their a way to get into a dos like area so that i can manualy change the aston config to windows??? plz help me thanks in advance for any help you can give gothicspirit@hotmail.com gothicspirit84@yahoo.com

it sez that i cant use a boot disk to fix it if..... Boot issues that occur after you see the Windows XP startup (Osloader) screen. i see the start up but it doesnt load the user select screen.

ok i tried the boot disk anyways and it tells me the boot.ini file is incorect and switches to /windows directory then it tells me im missing the hal.dll from /system32/ ... is their anyways to copy data to the c drive while booting from a floppy. it wont let me access my c: drive from a floopy boot and if i could i think i could fix this problum by coping the missing file to cd and then to my hard drive any sugestions thanks again

ok hp said i have to use the system restore disk but since mine isnt shiped with one they are going to mail one to me witch means my comp is down for the whole weak *goes into nervus convultions* NEED MY FIX NEED MY FIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX lol anyways thanks for the help
