Can anyone teach me on how to irradicate boot sector viruses, becuase my friend told me his computer has one, and inspite of the new technology of McAfee that I have in my computer, the virus is still roaming around my friends hd.

Tell your friend to go here and run the free online virus scan.

Once he knows what virus it is, he can take steps to remove it.

Also, maybe d/l AVG6.0 and it should take care of the virus...bust AV I've ever used.
McAffe and Norton are bloatware and not cranked up to what they say.

It's no use, yesterday, my friend told me that the virus is in its last stage, which means he need to buy a new one soon. He also said that when you he turned on his computer his hd produces crackling noise.
