Comment:

I just build this new computer, AMD 64 2800+, Gigabyte nForce3, 512 RAM, 80 gig HDD. I was able to get the OS installed just fine. Now when rebooting the computer I get a boot from CD error. I always have to boot from the WinXP CD. I have been in the BIOS setup and the boot sequence is, floppy, HDD, and CD. I have change this to boot from the HDD, CD, and then floppy. Even after doing this I get the same boot from CD error as before. After some digging around I was wondering...I have my HDD and CD drive both on IDE 1. HDD is set as Master and CD as slave. But would it solve my problem if I just changed my CD to IDE 2, and have them both on a separate IDE? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Try putting the CD drive on IDE2 as master...that should work. Keep the HDD on IDE1 as master. Also check the pins on the back of the HDD and CD Drive. Both should be in the primary master position!

Does ur bios have an option for boot sequence to be just hdd(ide-0)?

Good luck!
