hello all ok my computer(other one) was hanging at welcome screen today. after several attempts to reboot got message about NTOSKRNL.exe file corrupt or missing. booted to safe mode and did system restore and it seems to work fine now but after some research it says to do repair/install. not realy happy about doing that actually,any easy option even though computer works a dream now? also when i do msconfig.exe and look at start up programs there is a new thing called "1" and it seems to be called the boot sequence? is this the restore thingy leaving an emergency boot file in msconfig startup stuff? thanx fer all the help jenny

If its working like a dream then you don't need to do a install/repair. That option is only if other methods fail which your system restore didn't. I have no idea what the "1" is. Disable is and reboot. That will tell you if its boot related. Odds are its not but some new spyware/tsr on your system.
