Boot from CD-ROM: no emulation

im trying to repair the pc of my friends from zero
HDD reformated
P4

He have this "Recovery CD" that was installed before and when he bought this pc the OS is built in without any cd included. thats why he make only recovery cd for future use

now im trying to install the cd (xp) "Recovery CD" but im getting this messages:

Boot from CD-ROM:
no emulation

cant install the windows...
what i must do?

thanks in advance

I hope you have not formatted the drive completely yet.

About you cd try this webpage it explains what you might have done wrong

No emulation

trying to repair the pc of my friends from zero HDD reformated.

Zeroing HD reformat may have deleted the hidden partition required for the HP recovery CD to work - hence the "no emulation" error message.

Contact HP for a set of HP recovery CDs that you will need to rebuild the hidden partition.
