You evidently don't have the boot order set for CD before hard drive. So the computer is bypassing the CD and trying to boot to the hard drive. The hard drive is no longer bootable because your FUBARED the OS.

Then you either have a bad CD or you are hitting any key when prompted to do so on the screen. Either way, the computer is still skipping over the CD drive or the CD is not bootable.

Do you see a message on the screen when you boot that says to hit any key to boot from CD? If not, then either the boot order is wrong or there is something wrong with the drive.

What part of non bootable CD don't you understand. I don't care if the CD IS bootable elsewhere, is ain't booting in that system. You may have a defective cable or the laser is weak or dirty in the drive. For whatever reason the CD drive is not reading the CD as bootable. It is as simple as that.

The fact that you can't boot to the CD proves otherwise.

I am done debating this issue with you.
