ok,for the past month or so,i have been doing my thing on the comp. Then it will start to freeze up on and off. Then out of nowhere it shuts down,turns it self back on then it says boot failure. Says something like boot record not found,and it searches for a record on floppy a and cd rom.But before it says the boot failure stuff, when im booting up, it says like something master undeceted..After that,it just sits there and there is nothing i can do but turn it off and pray that after about 2 mins it starts up. Usually 2 mins does the trick. when it actually decides to like me,the things that said undectected are now detected. Also,what is the average temp of a comp? mine is always around 95-100.

I don't have heat sensors on my mother board, so I couldn't help you on the second part. If that is 95-100 Celsius, that is way too warm. About the boot problem... I ould try doing an emergency repair (boot disks). There is a command that may help... bootcfg /rebuild This will rebuild your boot configuration if possible. If it does not fix the problem, my guess is that the master boot record of your hard drive got hosed. Possible need for a fresh install. Good luck.

If the MBR is damaged, boot to dos prompt with a system floppy, then type fdisk /MBR this might fix the MBR (master boot record) Also a damaged flash BIOS can cause computer to go on and off at random times. Try to get BIOS flash update for your exact motherboard etc. and install. WS.
