I'm regularly getting this message when I'm working in XP. I'll be doing something and all of sudden the PC will reboot on it's own and I get the blue screen with a memory dump and when I restart the system I get teh boot failure system halted. Usually I power off the PC and when I turn it back on I press 'del' and it ususally boots back but this time it will not boot at all!!
When I boot from the XP cd it inspects the PC and gives me 3 options 1)re-install xp 2)repoar 3) exit. When I press 1 or 2 it says the hardrive is detected so it can't install. Has my hardrive crapped out or is this something else? This has been going on for appox 3 weeks and I ended up reformatting my hardrive and re-installing xp. Thanx in advance

I would see what programs you are using when you get the memory dump errors. Most likely it's a conflict with the same memory accesses by two or more different programs.
