I cannot find a boot disk for xp pro (ntsf) that lets me see the contents of the drive, AND alter files, such as move, copy or delete files, does one exist? I know there must be one, for a floppy, that I can boot to and see the drive from a prompt. Please help.

MSKB 305595 & 311073 will tell you how to create bootdisk using Windows Millennium. I prefer to add NTFSDos to my Windows 98 SE boot disk for greater flexibility.

BartPE is a good program also. You take his program along with some of the programs from your xp installation on a bootable cd. When you are done it's like a live version of Windows. There is a file manager like Windows Explorer. You can format or partition, amongst other things. It's to Windows, what knoppix is to linux. You can even run programs that won't run in ms-dos.
