Specs: Windows 7
my boyfriend needs to boot his computer has over 1800 issues on it and it barely works now
we have cleared the computer history but its made no difference his password will open the
windows but want start the boot on his Lenovo 575 laptop

You don't need a password to reset to factory settings. Lenovo has a feature called "One Key Rescue". Read the manual:

I don't really get what OP means.

Be sure to get the disks or instructions on how to recover the system to OEM state. That may be the next step, reload the OS.

One item to consider too...

If your b/f has files on the drive he would like save... then do NOT run any routines that in effect wipe the drive as is. That includes any programme/routines that restore to factory gate settings (restoring to how it was when new).

There are simple ways to allow you access the entire drive and save files etc. - even though cannot boot into it properly at present.
