Bookmarking of a site on screen

There are websites, including some from big companies, which refuse to be bookmarked. Is that my browser's fault? If not, why would a company make it so difficult to be found again?

It would be helpful if you told us what browser and what websites create this problem, and what exactly is preventing you from bookmarking them.

But generally, it sounds like a problem with your computer/browser.

My browser is BT Yahoo (BTbeing the national telephone co. of the UK).
I have had this problem before, but the one that got to me tonight was the Royal mail website: www.royalmail.com and the www.postcodes.royalmail.com
Not small companies that might have forgotten to put in that little bit of software in their webdesign.
So why do I repeatedly get the message "Failure to bookmark."

They both bookmark just fine for me as:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm#
and
http://postcode.royalmail.com/porta...

Your original links redirect to the above so try creating the bookmarks as such.

Many thanks Bryco. It must be my finger or the mouse that cause these occasional failures, and not the websites.
I must do better .....
Cheers.
