I'm using Firefox 1.5 & I have lots of bookmarks.
One problem is I don't know how to search my bookmarks in the bookmark manager using keyword, description or date?
Can anyone help?

Why don't you create a bunch of folder relating to various subject.

A) Operating system
B) Music
C) Software
D) etc..

This way you place the bookmark in the folder relating to the subject and you will not have to keep searching for it every time you want it.
I find this method saves a lot of time with dealing with bookmarks.

Install the Enahnced Bookmark Search extension; it does what you ask.

You might also be interested in Bookmark tags. I'm personally a big fan of the OpenBook extension--it should be a default feature of Firefox in my opinion.

You can find other extensions:
- http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/
The Firefox support forums might have even more leads.

Thank you all for your replies.
Especial Thanks to CyberSlug :) for the great links.
I have just noticed that this is a standard feature of Mozilla bookmark manager! I may as well switch to Mozilla.
Mozilla & Firefox look very similar; I'm wondering is Firefox a light version of Mozilla, or are they essentially two different browsers?
What are their advantages & disadvantages in comparison?

one answer; more info.

The Mozilla suite is basically the father of the Firefox browser and the Thunderbird email client. Firefox and Thunderbird are distinctly different from Mozilla--they're smaller and more specialized--but have a lot of the same "genetic material" and will replace Mozilla upon retirement. (It's a happy family, so you can install and run any/all of them without them interefering with one another.)

Thanks for your help Cyberslug :)
I have installed Enhanced Bookmark Search; and it's just what I was looking for. I think they should make it a default feature.
