I have purchased a Bluetooth Dongle and i am having lots of trouble installing it. I install it from the disk and when it gets to the last stage it shuts down my pc.
It gets to a box saying ' Installing Static legacy Port' then its just shuts down.
I think it is installing the programmes etc but not the drivers. I went into device manager and it has the yellow exclamation mark next to it, it is saying that i need to install drivers, but it will not let me.
I have visited the site for the bluetooth dongle (WIDCOMM) but there is nothing for me to download.
I cannot find drivers for this anywhere, tried driverguide etc but no luck....
Just curious as to why it wont fully install.
Any ideas as i'm lost as what to do now
thanksSteve

Try right clicking in device manager, and click update driver from there. and direct the folder to the install cd. that may work.
If you are successfull..... If you install service pack 2, it will 90% certain make the dongle useless for nothing more but file transfer.

yoda is spot on. i nearly threw my dongle away after installing SP2 until reading this go for method 2. you will probably have to fight with it and tell it to use the drivers you choose as mine didn't find any on the cd i had! i had to point it to them and tell it "USE THESE!!" good luck
