|I was transferring images from my camera (5D II, CF Card) to my computer when all of a sudden my computer hit a BSOD and restarted. Since then it hasn't been able to start up. I don't think I installed anything new prior, that would have caused the blue screen. Starting in safe mode shows that the drivers are loading up until spdt.sys at which point it restarts. I don't think that specific driver is the issue as I have tried renaming and removing it and I still get the issue. The XP Repair utility doesn't work either..also restarts. I have two OS's installed on my Drive XP 64bit and XP 32bit. I was able to successfully boot up the 32bit XP without a problem and I ran a virus scan and it didn't come up with anything. I heard maybe it was an avg installion issue so I downloaded the avg removal tool but nothing came of it.|
I tried taking out each clip of ram and also running sector and memory diagnostics but didn't come across anything either. I tried removing some addition peripherals but that didn't do the trick either. Luckily I am able to access my files and back them up but I would like to avoid reintalling the OS if possible. I am leaning towards this being a software issues since 32bit starts up just fine. Any Ideas of what I can try next?
