blue screens with no text

This problem has been a plauge to my computer for some time now. I cant seem to figure out what is causing it. I get blue screens but they have no text. I know about the blue screens i have had it happen with my kernel device before but that one had text. I have used 2 video cards also one geforce one ati and they both do it. If anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it.
I wonder if it could be my motherboard drivers because i have a syntax sv400 motherboard and i have no idea what drivers it uses. I wanted to update so i used VIA hyperion drivers i think this might be the wrong ones but sytax offers no driver upgrades all i have is my old ones.
