i have a dell xp home edtion pc 2001.my pc crashes ever since i have upgraded(doubled) my pc`s ram memory from 512 to 1024. each time i switch it on i get this message "error loading .dll after that my pc loads up then 5 minutes later a blue screen shows up with a long message with 4 paragraphs.i have had my windows re installed i taken out the new memory that i put in its still happening,the message is too long to type to but the main bits are "check for any bios updates" "tech onfo

Try clearing the CMOS by removing the battery or preferably using the MBoard jumper marked clrcmos. After that you will need to immediately enter the BIOS screens on the next boot to reset some values. Mainly Date, time, boot order, etc.

i have checked the new memory it was fitted by pc engineer. a shop around the corner(elca computers)he says it correct but the problem first occoured when the extra memory was fitted.also when i took it out the problem is still there
