I've read dozens of posts on the "Blue Screen Of Death without finding a solution to my problem. I cannot do any of the suggestions, 1. at start up it goes directly to the BSOD. 2. the error code # is 0x00000024 and suggests removing anti virus etc. as well as Chkdisk, but I cannot get into anything. 3. I attempted incerting the XP CDROM and found that the PC apparently was not set for CDROM first boot. I'm stumped as to what to do or where to beging. I can't chkdisk, scan, or even change the boot sequence. I tried removing pci cards, CDROM, RAM etc. to no avail. Please advise.

You can change the boot sequence in the BIOS setup. During the POST messages, usually near the bottom of the screen, it says a certain key to press to enter the BIOS setup. Press that key before the POST messages disappear, then use the arrow keys and Enter to change the boot sequence.

No, I can't. It doesn't post. All I get at start up is a black screen with a flashing cursor in the left hand corner, it then goes directly to the BSOD.
