Comment:

This dell is getting the BSOD and will not boot (Normally or Safemode) doesn't matter. The error is STOP:0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x805549CA, 0xF9678208, 0xF9677F08). Which MS says it's a "system_thread_exception_
not_handled" error and they give you workarounds and fixes, But they don't help if you can't boot. I have unhooked all Hardware( CD-Rom, CD-RW, Modem & Floppy) to make sure it's not a HW issue. Also reseated the memory, ran chkdsk checked Ok. So far nothing has help.. Any suggestions???
Thanks
Rick A.

Google for "error 0x0000007E" without the quotes. There is a ton if information there and I found that I had the wrong Nvidia drivers installed as a result.

Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

I found allot also, but if the PC won't boot, it hard to change anything.

On your way to Safe-Mode, try
"Last Known Good..." ?
In the boot options list.

Don't remember seeing "last Good", wonder why??? Did I just overlook it or is it not there... Is there an option not to show it??

Thanks

Have to see, if that's an option.... Not being able to boot up (Normally or safe mode) makes it tough. Any reason this PC can't be formatted and reloaded???

Thanks
Rick

I was told that, nothing had changed or was loaded or updated. It just happened.... So a reformat and reload, might be the best... Thoughts???? Thanks

I, after reading all of this, would backup and reformat. It wont hurt, just make sure you've got everything you want saved.

If it STILL doesn't work afterwards, then you know its some hardware issue thats almost not worth messing with anymore.
